A former full-time professor of art history, Robert Walker led the travel abroad programs in France and Italy for many years. He worked as a long time social activist in the artistic community of Los Angeles, founding the first program for homeless artists in the city, and in 1988 he pioneered a program for artists with HIV and AIDS.
